Manga or Movie?
« on: November 02, 2007, 08:53:18 am »
I have watched the movies for Death Note 1 and 2, both were really good. But who has read the manga version of Death Note? and is it better, or just more details to it?

Not sure on the manga, but I'm currently watching the anime series. So far the movies have done a really good job of portraying the series.

I've heard the manga is really good. Guess I'll have to pick up a book and report back to the board :)

If you get a chance check out the live action DeathNote. I caught a showing at Katsucon this past weekend. The storyline is pretty much the same ... runs up to about where Misa comes in ... and they tie if up differently than the anime or the manga (I think).

After getting the manga deals I got at Katsucon, I wish there was a Con every week ... 10 for $40 was just silly :)

Thats a sweet deal, I swung by a comic shop just to check prices and they were about $11 a piece, unless I missed a different price tag, they were going off the MSRP on the cover.

I've always liked the .hack story line.  Guess it would stem from my dislike of mmorpg.  Just to throw this out there where does everyone normally get their manga?  I usually go to atomic comics.

Bookmans has a small selection, not always a complete series. Great though if you are curious about a series but don't want to drop the money on it, can get the first one for cheap to at least check it out.
