What to do with Joker
« on: July 31, 2008, 06:30:31 pm »
This has been a hot topic of late with the release of The Dark Knight and everyone actually getting to see Heath's spectacular performance. What should be done with the character of Joker?

I voted to mention but not show him, but this only applies to this current run of Batman movies, which I think will sit at a trilogy. After that I would recast him, it would be unfair and stupid to stop Joker forever because one guy died who played him.

I agree with your vote there vega480. Nolan has said he is done after the third movie, so I say leave Heath's performance as joker done with this set of movies. You do have to mention joker though, because he was just left hanging from a building with squad of cops showing up. The character of joker 'completes' batman, so he can't be ignored, because of what happened in our world.

I think they should mention him, but not show him.
They could cast another actor, but it just wont be the same.
Who wants to follow up that act?!

@Pellucid - Who do you think they should cast? I bet they could talk Jack Nicholson to take over again. I know he was upset he was not given the opportunity to reprise his role as the Joker.
