Recommendations?
« on: December 11, 2007, 06:23:39 pm »
I lead a pretty stressful lifestyle and, more often than not, I'm left in a position to push away my hobbies to get my work done (am a designer)--anime normally is the first to go. Last anime I saw was Victorian Romance Emma (Season 2)...which was a long time ago. If any kind soul can recommend a series or two (I don't really need a list), I'd greatly appreciate it. My tastes run into the more serious type of anime, if that bit of info helps. Thanks!

I've know how that goes. School is crazy for me. They told me going in that it would be an intensive program, but I thought it was mere scare tactics on their part to get only the serious students. No they were telling the truth.

Anyways to the part you're interested in, the recommendations. Some serious anime I would throw out there for you are Afro Samurai and Basilisk. That is if you've not already seen those two.

Mmm, Basilisk does sound interesting. Afro-Samurai... kinda weirded out by that one. Maybe I'm just expecting too much; Samurai Champloo spoiled me! :D

Oh yeah, if you're going to compare it champloo, then you're right. Samurai Champloo is awesome. Basilisk had a great story arc to it. Plus the action sequence were well done in my opinion.

Samurai 7 is good. I'd also Recommend Ergo Proxy, Evangelion or Last Exile.

I'm currently watching Last Exile. I can second Laz recommendation on that one. Its a good steam punk genre anime.

Good serious anime's huh? I'm hooked on Code Geas right now, but utewaremano was good too, if hard to pronounce.
